From the moment our children are born, it is our instinct to protect them, nurture them, and teach them about the world around them. We watch them mature physically and emtionally into young adults.

As our daughter's grow, their bodies go through hormonal and physical changes that may be hard for them to understand. A lot of times, they learn about their bodies from friends, magazines, the internet or at school. Sometimes, the information they receive may not be correct. Therefore, the best information they can get is from you, their parents.

Some parents find that talking with their children about their child's body, and yes, their sexuality, can be very uncomfortable and even embarrassing. But by giving your child the best tools they can use for a promising future will help them make better choices. Stay strong, you can do it!

The Woman's Wellness Center has gathered some valuable information to help parents talk with their daughters about subjects like puberty, drugs and sex. Even being a little prepared for a possible topic is a step forward.

Good luck in helping your child become an informed, healthy, and strong young adult.
